Termination of FNB banking relationship

I am writing to express my deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding the email I received from FNB with a notice of termination of banking relationship stating my account will be closed. To my surprise, I received notice of this termination without any accompanying details or explanations as to why this decision was made.

I have been a loyal customer of FNB since the year 2019, and during this time, I have always maintained my account in good standing. In the email it states that FNB viewed the risk that would be introduced as a result of a continued banking relationship with me to be outside of its risk appetite. I do not understand what risk this could be. I am a young working professional with absolutely no risk. I have no complex business / income structures and I am happy to engage with FNB to provide whatever documentation is necessary i.e. invoices , tax returns, payslips, letters from employer etc. I stated this in my follow up email, but no response.

The lack of information provided to me regarding the termination has left me confused and frustrated. As a valued customer, I believe I am entitled to a clear explanation of the reasons behind this decision. Understanding the grounds for termination is not only my right but also essential for me to address any potential misunderstandings or rectify any issues that may have arisen.

Therefore, I kindly request that FNB promptly provide me with a detailed explanation for the termination of my banking relationship. This should include specific reasons, relevant dates or incidents, and any policies or terms that were allegedly violated. Additionally, I would appreciate information on any recourse available to me to appeal or challenge this decision.

I trust that FNB values its customers and their concerns, and I look forward to a swift resolution of this matter. Please acknowledge receipt of this complaint at your earliest convenience and provide me with a timeline for when I can expect a response.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I am hopeful that we can resolve this issue amicably and continue my banking relationship with FNB.
