Teller deposit at the branch.

I went to FNB today, to deposit coins worth R40. To my surprise I see my accrued charges sitting at R97 plus. I was aware of R10 accrued charges. Only to query it and find out I was charged R88.30 for a deposit of R40. I wasn't even advised by thr teller that thr deposit would cost more than thr amount o was depositing. When contacting the online team they just refer me to the charges and tell me to take it up with the branch. How ridiculous is it to pay more than your actual deposit. Then you get told there's a flat fee of R85. Who in this day and age has money to waste?

Then to add to the entire thing, initially the teller was being faulty and telling me that I needed to separate the new coins from the old coins. I didn't have enough coins to make up for the R10 denominations which he required.
