Technical ineptitude

Again, I need to perform a relatively simple transaction and once again, FNB has made it impossible.

I wanted to change my OTP to a number I am using while travelling, which I did. But none of my banking notifications were being sent to this new number. And now that the number has changed, I have no way of changing it back because each the OTPs are not being delivered.

To further my frustration, I dialled the Online Banking international number, selected the option for changing my One Time Pin, and was sent to an automated voice message that described the process of going to an FNB ATM to change my OTP. I went through every other menu related to online banking with the same result - a voice prompt that tells you to visit a website.

A few questions: how does an FNB ATM help someone calling from outside SA? How can I follow the voice prompts in the pre-recorded messages when FNB's tech has failed? I can't change my OTP if you don't send an OTP.

This is all adding to weeks of technical ineptitude by FNB. I raised this query a month ago, and a digital consultant e-mailed me and asked for my number. I sent my number on three separate occasions and have still had no call, which leads me to believe that my e-mails were not delivered.

So please FNB, explain how one performs a relatively simply OTP change when your tech network fails, and the only assistance I can turn to are voice recordings that are in no way helpful?

We're going from bad to worse. An online transaction (that I have performed on previous occasions) all of a sudden needs supporting documents. The system won't, however, tell me what documents are required.

Is this a guessing game?
