Switched a new client of mine to FNB business bank
I Brendan Gilpin, a business manager that works with small to medium enterprises.
I recently switched a new client to start Business banking at FNB as their service is generally great compared to other banks
All went well until I wanted to get the business property re bonded. It has no mortgage and no Liens on it and I told FNB upfront (A new business advisor Monief Schroder ) this was a way to raise some capital for expansion
That is until I went to see Avish Gukal and was told that although the assets where 100% the business had only been trading for a year and although has a set of financials the bank could not even consider re bonding the property, valued at R2.85 million plus the assets.
How can this possibly be helping small to medium businesses. They have no debt at all and assets valued way beyond what they wanted to raise.
I will go elsewhere now, I cannot see other lenders having any issue with this, but it is extremely embarrassing and unprofessional.
I have ,unfortunately already set up the client invoices to go through this new FNB account and now will change it ,again, to another bank .
I must add also this is the second client I have taken to FNB and the last
