"SWITCH TO FNB" Nightmare
What an absolute nightmare!!! I app**** to switch to FNB a more than month ago and I still don't have a working transactional account. It first took 3 weeks to get my cards, everytime I called the contact centre I was told my cards are with the courier and they would not be able to tell me what the delay was. I decided to contact the couriers directly and both (I app**** for a cheque and credit card and FNB used 2 different courier companies to deliver the cards) told me that they have been trying to contact me to arrange for delivery but failed a few times. I asked for the contacts details they had on their systems and they both gave me incorrect numbers. This tells me that my contact details were loaded incorrect on the system by FNB.
My cards were delivered, I then went to an FNB branch with ID and proof of residential address activate my cheque card. I spent 35mins in branch and the consultant told me my account and card are ready to transact. I transfered all my cash into my new FNB cheque account only to have my card declined 2 days later at a POS. I cannot even transfer my money to any other account and cannot withdraw it. I am stuck without cash. I called the contact centre again and I was advised that I didn't send my KYC docs to them, thus my account was suspended (THE SAME DOCS I WENT TO THE BRANCH WITH TO ACTIVATE MY CARD) I was told to either email the docs or go back to the branch. I didn't have time to go to the branch so I emailed them. I'm sitting 2 days later with no response from FNB and no cash.
