Study loan approved then declined!!!

I am so disappointed with FNB to the point where I have decided to switch to another bank in February.

I have been banking with FNB for close to 18 years, this year I have decided to develop myself personally and have enrolled with Wits part time to study. I went to ask the for a study loan at the bank, which was approved, we went through the disclaimers and I even submitted supporting documents. I was told the contract will be emailed to me in a few days. Yesterday ( 8/01/21) I was told my application was declined for a study loan but approved for a personal loan. I don't want a personal loan!No one explained to me the reason for a sudden decline.

Today I went to ABSA hoping they will assist me, they declined due to affordability. When they further dug deeper to the reasons for the decline, they discovered that I have 2 temporary loans with FNB totalling to R3000+ which I took out in 2018 and 2019 still reflecting as monthly debit orders that that I am still paying monthly????

If FNB dug deeper they should have told me this reason in the first place and rectified the error long ago.

I have never found help from the bank when I need it. You gave me false hope in approving my study loan then you came to take advantage of my desperate situation by offering me a personal loan which is expensive for me.

Aren't you suppose to find ways to really help your loyalcustomers? How can we help you???

ABSA has escalated my application matter and asked that I request settlement letters from FNB and will get back to me on 48 hours.

I am changing banks and leaving this abusive bank which has done nothing to help me in the past 18 years.

Find Innovative ways to meet your loyal customers halfway!!!!
