Stuck in a vicious cycle of no service and nowhere to save
Saving is what we should all encourage our children to do. I chose FNB as my children's bank since I already had experience with them and thought their personal service and digital offer surpassed other banks. Boy have I been wrong. My kids atm cards have been block due to lack of use. The closest ATM that accepts deposits is a 30 minute drive away and in lockdown we reverted to ***gy banks. By now each have accumulated a substantial amount of money to deposit and it is burning a hole.in their pockets. But so you think I can actually a) find an atm that accepts deposits b) find a bank that is open when I am not working and my kids are off school c) get any joy from the digital service - online plus app plus call centre.
I suspect because we are small fry they don't care enough. One day my small fry will be big fry and I can promise they won't come knocking at FNBs door for a student loan or home loan. TPO'd
