Struggling to understand the point of a private banker

On Tuesday 20 December, I attempted to phone my private banker, I sat on hold for 15 minutes. I then sent email to my private banker in which it said I would get a response within 24 hours, I am still waiting for a response. I wanted to make sure a debit order for TRSS did not go off my account as I had cancelled the service with the company in October. If the debit comes off my account for December, FNB will be held liable for such payment.

I am really trying to understand the purpose of a private banker...it sounds like a money making gimic for FNB!!! Added to which the private banker is changed almost every two - three months.
