Stranded in Thailand

I am currently on holiday in Thailand with my wife & 2 children. I had used both my FNB Cheque & Credit Cards here until this evening, when without warning FNB blocked both cards and left me stranded at a restuarant unable to pay.! Do you know how stressful it is to be in a foreign country with two children and no access to funds!? A costly telephone call to FNB identified it as a FICA issue. Why didnt my personal banker Revati Vishnu call me to remind me about FICA or why didnt I get SMSs or notifications on the FNB app on my phone that FNB was about to block my card!!??........probably because FNB knows very little about customer service.

Maybe thats why FNB payoffline is "How Can We Help You" because they have no flipping clue and need their customers to tell them how.

Thank GOD.....I had a Bidvest Bank World Currency Card that could be recharged by a phone call to them in South Africa - they saved my holiday.

It was also VERY strange that FNB said they couldnt get through to my cellphone when I begged them to help me but Bidvest Bank managed to get through every time!!

FNB your customer service SUCKS!
