Stranded in New Zealand!!!

I am not sure how FNB systems work... but I do know that I am stranded in New Zealand without being able to pay for accommodation, car or FOOD!!!

I opened up my CREDIT CARD for international use before leaving SA and have successfully used my card here in NZ.

I wasn't sure if I could draw cash from at international ATM so I tried. I got an error that my PIN was incorrect. Not knowing what I did wrong (and being overseas) I didn't dare try doing anything else at the ATM, i.e. I made a mistake ONLY ONCE!!!

In hind sight, since I always use my cheque card for ATM transactions, I must have typed in my cheque card PIN instead of my credit card PIN.

When I got back to my hotel and checked my emails a few hours later, I found an email telling me that my PIN has been blocked and I should call the SA number during office hours... the email come through at the same time that I tried my ATM transaction.

Firstly, NZ is 11 hours ahead so the "office hours" note is really not going to work for me...

Secondly, I have no way of phoning an SA number from NZ, and even if I wanted to open my NZ cell number for international calls, I can't because... my credit card is not working... and please don't tell me that I should have openned my SA number for roaming; this is my first time out of the country and I certainly did not expect banking issues...

Then I thought... I have been an FNB customer for over 20 years, let me contact my PRIVATE BANKER,,, Guess what? That button on Online Banking which says "Contact your private banker" doesn't actually contact my private banker, it sends my request to a call center team who will get back to me within 24 hours on behalf of my private banker... I only found this out a few hours later by reading the "automated, do not reply" email with instructions of which email I should have used for immediate response from my "private banker". That's great! Thank you very much for the additional information to my email that should have gone directly to my "private banker"!!!

PS... The contact confirmation email has absolutely NO INTERACTION REFERENCE NUMBER, so good luck finding my logged issue at "2017-03-19 at 11:24:19".

It is now 6am in NZ and 7pm in SA... and I need to use my card to check out of my first hotel in 4 HOURS' time.

What I'd like to know is HOW IS FNB GOING TO HELP ME?!

Oh yes... one more thing... when I logged into FNB Online Banking I saw the love note about how I no longer qualify for eBucks.

This is probably because I didn't "open the stupid FNB Android APP at least once a month".

Really?! How dare you (FNB) do that?!

Regards,

Joanna Barbara Berry

Card..9088
