Still “Validating” Since January – Where Is the Accountability?
I am writing to raise a complaint regarding the unacceptable delays in my third-party claim being handled by First National Bank and Neil Govender Attorneys. The accident took place in December, and all required documents were submitted in January. Since then, I have consistently been advised that the claim is “still being validated.” No further explanation, progress report, or estimated timeline has been provided. It is concerning that several months later, there is still no clarity or outcome. We already experienced delays while waiting for FNB to submit the third-party claim to the relevant parties, and now there appears to be no sense of urgency in finalising the validation process. I respectfully request: A detailed update on the current status Confirmation of whether the claim has been submitted to the third party An explanation for the prolonged validation period A clear timeframe for resolution The continued lack of feedback is unacceptable, and I trust that this matter will now receive the urgent attention it requires.
Thank you for your response and for providing feedback regarding the status of the claim.
However, I would like to place on record my concern regarding the prolonged delay in resolving this matter. Your client, who is insured with FNB, caused damage to my vehicle, and as a result I have been without a vehicle since December 2025. This situation has caused significant inconvenience and disruption to my daily responsibilities.
While I understand that your Third-Party Division is awaiting the final repair invoice for your client’s vehicle to determine the final quantum of damages, it is extremely frustrating that my claim cannot progress due to the internal finalisation of your client’s claim. As the innocent third party in this incident, I should not be left without recourse or transport for such an extended period.
I kindly request that this matter be escalated or that interim consideration be given to my claim, as the delay is now approaching several months. I would appreciate any assistance in expediting the process or providing a clearer indication of when the matter is expected to be resolved.
If a practical solution cannot be reached in the near future, I will unfortunately have no choice but to escalate this matter to the Motor Ombudsman for further assistance.
I look forward to your urgent feedback and a practical resolution.
Kind regards,
