"*****ing" of interest

So FNB works it's little scheme like this. You get a THEORETICAL overdraft interest rate of 16.6% pa but they deduct 22% pa, of which you will get a back payment some time later of the difference in rate if all accounts are "managed well". Now, with two children on Varsity and things running tight (near the overdraft limits) financially, FNB creates a debit order from your current account without your consent, to pay the credit card. They do send an SMS to you with the option to reply OPT OUT which doesn't work at all, needless to say. FNB has absolute full knowledge that your salary gets paid into the account (as clockwork, without exception) on the 25th of each month, so they make the debit order to run on the 24th. So your current account gets overdrawn past the limit by FNB themselves, so that they do not have to give your interest they already took between 16.6 and 22% back, since your account is beyond its overdraft limit and not "managed well". You cannot be any means get yourself in this situation, since your card will decline at any retailer, but FNB forces the account beyond the limit to keep the over the limit. I would call that *****ing and not "how can we help" at all.

Tracy of FNB credit card called. She admitted, (but repeatedly and vehemently refused to comment on why) FNB sends an SMS to you to move your credit card debit order to before your salary date. Then they blame YOU, THE CLIENT that they didn't receive a reply on the SMS, irrespective of your reason. (out of the county or airtime or whatever). If your current account is near the overdraft limit, FNB overdraw your account themselves, maliciously damaging your credit record, pushing up your interest rate, and lining their pockets with a whopping 6% ABOVE your current interest, for your account being overdrawn. Then Tracy gave me the: "This shouldn't have happened, hold on...", "The person working with it is out right now", and " I will get back to you" treatment.
