STAY AWAY FROM FNB THEY ARE TOTALLY USELESS
FNB's level of incompetency and disrespect to myself as somebody who is bringing in foreign currency every month into this country is unbelievable.
As a full South African Citizen with residency in South Africa, I am informed by FNB in 2025 that I am not a South African Citizen without residency and only have a UK tax number.
I returned to South Africa in 2013 with a ID that says I am a South African Citizen and have voted in every general and local elections since 2013.
In 2020 I started bringing in monthly payments from my investments in the UK to South Africa. The money I bring in from the UK is taxed in the UK and I have to submit my P60 Tax form issued by the UK Tax Office to SARS every year with my South African annual tax submission.
My tax details with FNB from 2020 to 2024 included my South African tax number and my UK tax number and also stating that I am a full South African citizen.
Come 2025 FNB changes this information.
After putting a post on Hellopeter regarding this a few months ago, FNB sends me a self certification tax form that went in my junk mail.
This certainly is an accurate depiction of FNB.
The form is not very professional as you need in input the information a number of times as it fails to accept what ever you input.
My patience with FNB is running very thin as I am tired of the *********** and disrespectful service I receive from FNB.
FNB certainly is not a bank that is willing to provide a helpful or competent service.
I have never received such *********** and disrespectful service as i receive from FNB from my bank in the UK.
I will definitely be changing from FNB to another bank by the end of this year and taking my foreign investment money and business elsewhere.
