Stay away from FNB Short Term Insurance

Stay away from FNB short term insurance. My claim no RMO22187 still has not been settled 3 months later! On the 6th of April 2025 I accidently bumped my neighbour's car. FNB referred me to their specified panel beater. We took both cars in for assessment, where we were told they cannot repair both cars under the same claim no because it's a third party claim. So I contacted Simdumise at FNB insurance and was called back by another person, who said the third party must submit 3 quotes, which she (the third party) did.

My car was repaired two weeks later. The damage was R5582.84 and my excess was R4500, so they were happy to pay R1082.84. The damage to the other car is around R12 000.

The problem is the third party claim, which 3 months later has not been finalised. Neil Govender Attorneys was appointed by FNB to handle the third party claim. Why, I don't know, just to increase costs? These people do not respond to emails or phone calls. I can not look my neighbour in the eyes anymore.

I am handing this over to the onbudsman, and I will be cancelling my FNB short term insurance. As a matter of fact I want to close all my FNB accounts.
