Stay away from FNB, no such thing as valued clients!
My cellphone and 2 credit cards (business and personal) were ****** on Saturday 15 February 2020 and this was reported to FNB within 10 minutes of the theft. They were told to block all my cards (even those that weren't ******) and notified that my cellphone was ******.
On the Monday, I went to the FNB branch to order all my new cards. Whilst with the consultant, I noticed about R55 000 missing from my business account, reflecting in the form of 6 evidently strange transactions. There were 2 EFT's made to a bank I have never paid before (African Bank), 2 E-Wallet transactions and 2 Cardless Cash Withdrawals at the maximum limits. This was also clearly suspicious as they performed the transactions within 10 minutes before midnight and then again after midnight to max out my limits for both days, AND performed AFTER reporting the crime to them two days prior! The ***** was immediately reported in the branch with all paperwork and affidavits, and was promised a resolution within 14 days.
Six weeks later and I am still waiting for feedback, and each time I call the consultant (L'oreal Ezrah) dealing with my case (who fails to provide feedback on the agreed dates as promised), all she can tell me is that the case is sitting with the legal team and investigators. It is not rocket science to establish that these transactions were suspicious, and that the ***** occurred 2 days AFTER notifying them that my cellphone and bank cards were ******.
I am an ex-Standard Bank client and the only reason I left was to utilise the pay-and-clear facility (which Standard Bank now offers). I have had ***** twice in 10 years on my Standard Bank account, also significant amounts, which were resolved and paid back within 7 days!
Will definitely be reconsidering my bank of choice going forward if this is not resolved timeously!
