SPRING CLEANING AFTER 16 YEARS???

I have been doing all my banking with FNB for over 35 years now. I have a bond, personal account, business account, RCP and credit card. In recent years, I have become accustomed to the convenience of online banking and have managed to open new accounts and obtain loans and to amend my banking facilities at my convenience.

Last week I made an online application for a personal loan and promptly received an e-mail advising that my application was being assessed and I was given a reference number. I haven't heard from FNB since Friday. I called yesterday and again today to follow up and I was given the run around and told that there is no trace of the application. The consultant offered to do the application telephonically and was unsuccessful because 'there are two profiles' in my name! The 'second' profile is apparently a business account that I had opened over 16 years ago and never operated! I have been told that I need to go into a branch and link the profiles because "the addressed on both profiles are different"!

Clearly FNB has eventually to update their records and are not applying common sense. I will be moving all my accounts from FNB to Nedbank if FNB does not sort their problem out with as little inconvenience to me within the next 48 hours.

Thank you for your response, Rahim.

As you are no doubt aware, this complaint was logged on 02 March 2017. Are you now asking me to give you another 24 to 48 'working hours' to investigate/resolve this problem? If so, I take it that this mean I should expect a response by 15 March 2017?
