Sorry Grandma - no savings account for your grandchild...and we will not provide feedback

5 Months prior to the birth of my first grandchild, I emailed an enquiry asking what is the process to open an account for my grandchild. The response received indicated that the account could be opened online and that the birth certificate can be submitted online. The 2nd of June I completed the online application as per email. I was promised feedback within 24 hours (it did not specify working hours). After 3 days and 2 enquiries I received a reference number and a promised that I will receive feedback as soon as the documentation has been verified. Up to today no feedback was received. All emails were answered with something like "we are not able to use the reference number that we provided to answer your email - log a call via internet banking since then no email proof is given and no reference number is provided". The account was cancelled last week. Upon my enquiry, I was first told my documentation was not correct since they did not provide me with the complete list of documents needed on their reply January. I requested the date and time that the sms was send, since I received none. They were unable to provide me with the date and time. Next day I received an email the problem is not with the documents, but the account was cancelled because there were no activity on the account that was never activated. I have send fnb premier banking a list of all the emails were I required feedback. I really tried from my side to get fnb to do something. They did not care to respond. According to the email indicating the last lame excuse for the cancellation the cancellation cannot be reversed. My grandchild is already 5 months old - all grandma wanted is a bankaccount for her first grandchild - but fnb are not willing and do not care. Why try and open an account again? At this rate of service she will be able to do it herself before fnb manage to open an account.

Up to date nothing improved. The youth account opened the 30th of May is reopened but still not active - although the documents requested was send again. To have a secure "chat" is a waste of time. How can you "chat" using the app if the fnb consultant only answer after 45 minutes??????
