Someone I do not know phoned FNB to cancel my credit card and FNB cancelled it without verifying with me.

Yesterday I tried to swipe my credit card, I got a sms that said my credit cards is invalid. At 09H00 I phoned FNB at *** and spoke to Micael who informed me that my card was cancelled, I must app**** for another one but when I check on my profile there is another card that was issued with the expiry date of 31 December 2025 but I do not have that card with me and FNB did not communicate that they will issue a new card. I requested a reason for cancelling my card, she referred me to ***** section. At ***** Section I was assisted by Rhandzu, who told me that someone phoned to cancel my credit card. I am requesting the following information from FNB.

1. Why did FNB allow someone who do not have signing powers to cancel my card? 2. What procedure did FNB follow to make sure that the person was sent by me to cancel my credit card? 3. Did that person give FNB my information like my identity number? Which identification did FNB use to access my profile? 4. After FNB cancelled my card without my concern why did nt they inform me that they have cancelled my credit card? Why did nt I receive any sms to inform me that my card is cancelled and they have issued a new card? 5. Where is the new card that appears on my profile, because it was not delivered to me? 6. Why did Micael not see that there was another card that was issued before advising me to apply for another card while there is already one under my profile? 7.What is FNB going to do to ensure that in future they do not allow someone I do not know to transact on my account? 8. Why is FNB not responding to the complain that I emailed yesterday.

What was done by FNB is wrong and unacceptable. FNB did not promote good banking practice, this behavior does not foster confidence in FNB and currently I can not even transfer funds from my credit card to my cheque account because I get an error message that say "The transaction is not permitted on one of the specified account"
