Sneaky money making system
This is more a warning to other users than a complaint.
I initially joined FNB to benefit from ebucs, then when they changed their ebucs system last year I had to make a few changes to get my level back up. But I was at level 5. This month I look and see and I lost about 4500ebucs , when I investigated I found that one of the options I instructed to put to "YES" was put to "NO". The option is as follows :
Have you given FNB consent to market to you, chosen to receive all your statements via email only and updated your contact details at least once in the last 12 months via FNB Online Banking?
When I called and asked about it I was told that I didn't update my details, but when then I said I still have the same contact numbers, email, address, employer, name(funny that?) and sadly the same salary. Then the person on the phone told me to simply delete my telephone number and put it back in to register a change. So this issue has reached her before, so its a known issue in FNB.
Then I started thinking, I now loose out 2 months of level 5 rewards and benefits. 2 Months because you can only get the point allocation if you had it for a full month another sneaky item. That is almost 10000ebucs in my case, and if they do that to every FNB member that doesn't know the "trick" to keep the option active, how many millions are pocketed by FNB for this devious/********* system?
So yes, I agree, I didn't update my policy but I at least expected a call to ensure that nothing has change, or a button to click stating nothing has changed. "How can we help you"?
At least with this post and every person I tell about this sneaky system hopefully a few other will not loose out.
Well done FNB.
Regards
Dirk
