Smart Spend Loan Magical Arrears Amount
Smart Spend Loan...what a mess!!! My loan should have been paid off on 31.07.2019. Then suddenly when I checked my balance, the balance on my internet banking profile showed that I have three more months to pay as I was in arrears with more than R 5, 000.00. My problem with this is that FNB debits my account with all my FNB related debit orders before I receive even one cent of my salary so it is impossible to be in arrears according to me as I have received a salary well since I started in the airforce in 2003 and then moved over to the SAPS in 2003, to an Insurer in 2011 and moved back to the SAPS in 2018. Every month I've received a salary so I am not sure how I could be in arrears.
FNB's explanation when I phoned in on 20.08.2019 is that they, for some odd reason, lowered my debit order amount in 2015 (correct me if I'm wrong FNB) without my knowledge (again, correct me if I'm wrong FNB). Now because of that, I'm in arrears...because of FNB. Another thing, when I checked my balance now, I see that my monthly instalment has again been lowered from about R 1, 200. to about R 1, 000.00. So FNB, when will I finish this loan because according to you, I owe you two months before this loan is settled but when I apply Grade 2 maths, I will still be short with about R 3, 000.00. So what then? Are you going to extend my loan again?
This is not on. I need answers, please. I cannot phone you, waste my airtime and incur bank charges if this is a mistake on your part, that will just be c r a p p y client service.
I'm in desperate need of this monthly instalment and I've already budgeted on having this amount available to me from the end of August now I'm being hung out to dry by you.
Your consultant told me that you would get back to me within 7 to 10 days but that I should be prepared to phone you guys if I don't get a call from you. My problem with this is that at the end of August, you would have deducted another instalment from me without explanation. Furthermore, my call today was more than half-an-hour...I'm going to have to pay for that call as well as banking fees associated with you contacting me. I want answers before the end of the week, please.

I believe that I should in fact post a separate review on Hellopeter.com as today I received an SMS stating the following:
":) Your FNB Personal Loan account has been handed over by FNB to FNB Loans Legal Collections to proceed with legal action. Contact FNB Loans Legal Collections to avoid legal action. Email us at ***"
As my initial complaint specifically related to my Smart Spend Loan, I have to assume that you are indeed referring to my other, Personal Loan. This too is funny as it is currently showing that YOU took R 9.39 too much this month!!!!
In light of the above, I'm going to research to see if there is a banking Ombud to lodge my complaintS there. My initial complaint relating to my Smart Spend Loan and my second complaint relating to my Personal Loan.
I'm starting to get the idea that you guys do not know what you are doing.
Very, very disappointed,
Chris Pretorius
