Smart Device not so smatr people

My Smart Phone that was purchased through FNB was ******.

There is not a number to dial from the bank - like you do with ATM *****, there is no assistnce in the branch - the best that you can hope for is to go online to block your sim card. No tracking or black listing options seem possible.

To have the pin mumbers from electricity purchases re-sent depends on the call center being able to authenticate you.

How would they do that you ask?

Good Question.

They need you to enter your atm pin number (remember that this is a call center) from your cell phone.

Remember the said cell phone hsa been ******.

And that is the only way.

If you happened to be calling from a land line, and there are no touch tone buttons - tuff! this is the only way that it can be done.

So here is a question: If the bank can verify you, on the phone, and offer you a 30k loan, on the phone, with no buttons pressed, simply by talking to some one, without ID coppies in triplicate, thumb prints, of pin codes the money magically appears into your account (at a substantial charge, and astronomical interest)

How is it that the call center is un-able to verify "you" in any other way than you pressing the pin on a cell phone.

And all of this is to when you request the electricity voucher to be sent to you via email rather than to the phone that was stollen .! A voucher that is ONLY valid of ONE electricity meter!

The call center staff where un helpful, and un able to understant my problem. The first person Ruth Mashazela told me to get a phone and call back to be verified accurately.

Her supervisor Mpo told me that this is the only way that i could be verified so I must go to the branch (again - the last Saturday spent at the bank queing to be put on a phone, and on hold for a further 2 hours until the bank had to close - because they do not do smart devices - Plumbstead)

FNB are very good at lending money, and selling you "smart devices", and great if you have everything as per the script - but not a millimeter deviation can they manage.

I am so disgusted that I am changing banks!

Disgruntled - Erika
