Sitting duck with FNB banking

I've always been proudly marketing FNB & convinced several friends & family to bank with them instead of other considered institution. I have been a client (and still is) of several other institutions, but FNB services & benefits far outweighed any other institution. Until now. I was shocked at the incompetence, lack of service & ignorance of FNB staff which started to reveal as soon as I actually needed them.

My handbags (with all my bank cards) were ****** on 29 September. Since 8 October, several ********** transactions started coming through on both my accounts using ****** cards, hotlisted cards & even a card that expired in 2014. The ********** transactions kept approving eventhough my accounts were overdrawn (I do not have overdraft) & I was then also charged with several penalty fees from FNB. To date there has been 21 transactions on my credit account (only 15 reimbursed) & 11 transactions on my debit account (none reimbursed). I have been to the Hatfield branch twice with no luck. I cannot count the amount of times I have phoned both FNB customer service & ***** department. Each time they discover "a different card not hotlisted yet" & assure me that my accounts will now be safe. It hasn't been. The last time I phoned FNB *****, I was assured the same thing, but I still insisted on both my accounts to be frozen immediately. He assured me that they were indeed both frozen & I would need to visit a branch to reactivate. Yet, more ********** transactions went through this morning! The previous time I phoned FNB *****, I had to hold for 15 minutes & was then told that the relevant person I need assistance from was on a smoke break & that they would phone me back (they didn't).

I'm currently banking with another institution as well, where I have similar account types. Those cards had also been ****** at the same time. Yet I have had NO ********** incidents with them. I cannot believe that there is NO way for FNB to protect me against ***** the same way the other institution clearly does even if it means transferring to new accounts. Surely it should be FNB's responsibility to ensure that my accounts are secure (especially since the person/s **********ly using my ****** cards don't have my pin) &that accounts with no funds cannot be overdrawn. I had to make a plan myself to stop this & decided to have the accounts frozen. FNB could not even do this upon request.

I am supposed to make monthly payment before 29 November, but am reluctant to do so, since I know my accounts are not secure. FNB cannot hold me responsible for overdrawn accounts, penalty fees & unpaid monthly dues when I have been pleading for protection & security for almost 2 months now & kept being falsely reassured that my accounts are safe.

I am bitterly disappointed in FNB's lack of protection & disregard for the seriousness of this situation. I truly pray that someone at this institution is competent enough to secure my accounts with them. If not, it would clearly be an unwise choice to keep banking with FNB.

I have been contacted telephonically and informed that the issue will be investigated. It has now been a week since the complaint and no further contact was made to discuss / resolve this. This morning another 3 ********** transactions went through on my easy account which clearly means that the situation is clearly not still not being taken seriously by FNB. There are also still several previous transactions which haven't been reversed yet. Please advise on appropriate channels, since I have tried visiting a branch twice, phoned customer service & ***** deperatment several times, sent several emails and now tried (and failed) with Hello Peter. I cannot keep banking with an institution where ********* have direct easy access to all of my funds.

I posted the first review 2 weeks ago. Yet I am still in the dark with regards to the way forward.
There are still 2x "weier of magtiging" transactions on my credit account not reversed yet (6 November) and 3x ********** toll gate transactions on my easy account (16 Nov) not reversed yet (claim sent a week ago).
It seems my credit account is now frozen/inactive, since I am unable to make my monthly required payment.
"You cannot transact from this card/account as it is inactive or there are insufficient funds available in this account.
Error code: 217
***"
Also I would like to know why you give us an option to choose an overdraft facility when my account can be overdrawn by ********* without such a facility anyway. I keep receiving warning sms' and penalty fees for money ****** from me (actually ****** from FNB). I'm sure this cannot be good for my credit record.
In a nutshell, it seems that not only is my money not safe with FNB, but nor is my clean credit record. I find it amazing how NO-ONE at FNB could (& still can't) solve this. It's already been 7 weeks of constant ********** transactions.
