Short Term Insurance
I have a policy with FNB and unfortunately i had lost my airpods and watch. These items are covered under portable possessions which i pay for. I logged the claim through STI and immediately i felt like i was a ******** being asked who i was with, what was i doing. I was requested to provide documents by the 20 August, on the morning of the 20th my claim was rejected. When i called the Call Centre i was told that they can decide when the reject a claim be it 8am or 4pm. I told her that the day ends at 12:00 midnight and she was adamant that i had 7 days - bare in mind i have 2 jobs and told her that she doesnt know what i do with my time. Nevertheless i send the document. However, I needed to provide consent for them to check that my vehicle finance has not bounced. How is this relevant. Documentation was sent and further documentation was requested. Documentation was sent on the 28 August 2026. I have received no feedback from then. Called them - system offline. Called them again, another agent said the claim is with the manager to authorise. Today 10 September, I get asked for a tracker report. When i asked why this was being requested this today, I was told it was part of the initial request. How is my tracker relevant? The agent does not provide feedback and has an attitude. I will be cancelling my insurance, because no doubt FNB will reject this claim because its obvious they think all clients who claims against the insurance they pay for are ********s. I have never lost a phone or any item and when I do, i get treated like it was intentional. I am deeply disappointed in FNB STI and would not recommend it to anyone.
