Shocking fnb lack of assistance.
I have emailed, tried the secure chat and now even tried phoning, after 20 minutes of listening to a tune that will drive you insane there was still no answer. I am constantly being transferred between agents who send me in the wrong direction. I app**** for urgent long term debt relief on the 21st of August, on the 28th of August I just received a mail saying its in process. Urgent meaning I dont have weeks to wait. Im very sure on the day the first payment is missed I will get a call from the correct departments wanting their money. It seems that debt review is the better option since fnb makes it their work not to assist.

15 Sept 2026, 06:01FNB Assist / Debt Relief – Almost a Month With No Meaningful Progress
I am unfortunately having to escalate this matter on HelloPeter again because I have still received very little communication or meaningful progress regarding my request for long-term debt relief/consolidation.
I first raised this matter with FNB on 21 August 2026. We are now approaching a month later, and despite my repeated attempts to engage with FNB and provide everything requested, I still do not have a clear update on the assessment or what the next steps are.
After my previous HelloPeter complaint, I was contacted by FNB and asked to provide supporting documentation. I submitted the requested information approximately six days ago. I was also asked to provide an FNB Financial Information Form, but I could not locate the correct template, so I specifically asked FNB to send it to me. I have still received no response to that request.
I understand that a financial assessment takes time and that the bank needs to properly consider the information provided. However, the overall process has now been ongoing for almost a month, while communication has been extremely limited.
I was previously advised that I could expect feedback within approximately five business days. I have tried my best throughout this process to cooperate, provide the requested information and work with FNB to find a sustainable solution before my financial position deteriorates further.
I am therefore simply asking FNB to please take ownership of this matter, confirm what documentation is still outstanding, and provide me with a meaningful update on the status of my assessment.
I genuinely want to resolve this with FNB. I am not trying to avoid my obligations — I am trying to find a realistic long-term solution that allows me to continue meeting my obligations.
Please can the relevant FNB Assist/debt relief team contact me urgently.

18 Sept 2026, 15:15Since writing this review, I cannot believe that nothing has changed. Fnb has not responded on any of my countless emails and the phone numbers they provide is useless. The only reaponse I received from fnb was the automated response saying they will try to resolve this issue withing 5 business days. Its been 2 weeks now.
