I took out a personal loan on the 6th of April 2023 for the amount of R150 000.00. On the 24th of August, I obtained a settlement figure from the bank – The settlement letter issued by Fnb on the 24th, clearly states that the settlement figure is valid until 25 August as FULL AND FINAL SETTLEMENT. I then made payment to my PL and I special cleared it. On the 25th my scheduled debit order was deducted, which is in order and understandable, in the light that I settled the account the day prior. Obviously Fnb now had to refund me the instalment that went off via debit order. The FULL amount. Because I settled the account the previous day IN FULL!! But NOOOOOOO, I was refunded R484.03 short. I tried to have this sorted out telephonically, but after I was on the line with the *** number for over 30 minutes, the call conveniently got cut. I've sent emails... but not received my balance refund. This is a matter of principles!!
