Settlements are not banked

This is now the third time (That I am aware of), that credit card settlements does not appear in my bank account. Each time I have to call in, costing me time and money. And each time a different reason is given. Yes. Eventually it does get sorted. But why. And what if there are settlements I dis not pick up?
