************ service from FNB
My wife and I bank with FNB, all our accounts are held with FNB including my home loan. I have paid my home loan on time never defaulting for 8 years never requesting a payment break even during the covid pandemic. Due to the interest rate increases just like most South Africans things have become financially tight for my family and I. I recently completed a rate review form asking for a review of my interest rate which is 12 percent. FNB home loans offers to extend my home loan to 30 years. Instead of trying to look out for the best interest of the customer FNB wants to put me and my family deeper into debt. Instead of assisting with a interest rate reduction of 0.5 percent and still ensuring FNB makes a huge profit, FNB prefers to bind me to a 30 years home loan. How is this feasible. FNB home loans customer service is pathetic. Think before doing business with these ************ people.
The position of FNB home loans is that the contract rate was agreed to for the full term of the loan, and although the bank offers to do rate reviews, at its discretion,
it is not guaranteed that an improved rate would be obtained.
Based on the banks current pricing strategy and current market conditions, the rate of p+0.25% (12.00%) currently held is considered to be favorable, and cannot be improved on at this time.
Other options we can mention for you to consider would be:-
1) Loan term extension, which is subject to credit approval and repricing, may assist with lower repayment.
2) Fixed rate quotations can be provided for your consideration.
3) For consideration of special arrangements you can send an email to ***
Kind regards

Look at this response from FNB, is this the response from a customer centric Bank. Clearly this bank is not interested in any real pratical solution that will benefit their customers. Please stay away from FNB home loans, you will be trapped in a contract with a bank that has no interest in assisting their clients. They will prefer that you not meet your commitments so they can repo your house and bill you for legal cost.
