service fees not explained
Complaint Reference number *** I can't tell you how disappointed I am in FNB. I'm so gonna close my account when I'm back in SA. I was forced to open an FNB account because I was expecting 2 small through PayPal. I opened a savings account and receive the small payment of R300 through PayPal but I was charged R400 service fees on the 9 March and R80 per transaction each time I swiped or withdrew money in Namibia. I told the consultant that I had to go to Namibia for 2 months and she did not explain those service fees. I cannot afford these fees R800 is a lot of money for someone who is unemployed not to mention so many R80 deducted for the transactions that I did. I want my money back! Had I known about the fees I would never have opened that account or transacted. Best of all is you cant see your balance as you're a foreigner in Namibia so you don't know where your money is disappearing to. The app does not work in Namibia so I had to look for an internet cafe and log onto internet banking where I discovered to my horror that I was being charged R80 per transaction and R400 monthly service fees. The banking Ombud needs to get involved here. I am a Capitec client and never even know about service fees because they are such small amount. Please I need my money back.
