Serious concerns about FNB’s security and “Secure Chat” process
I am extremely concerned about FNB’s banking security, or rather, the lack thereof.
Every time I make any transaction across my accounts, it is shortly followed by suspicious activity, which strongly suggests that my account activity is being monitored or exposed in some way. This is deeply alarming for a bank that claims to prioritise customer security.
What makes this worse is FNB’s so-called “Secure Chat” feature. When trying to resolve this issue through Secure Chat, I was told that I need to verify my identity by providing further personal information before I can receive help.
This raises a very serious question: What is the point of a “secure” chat if it is clearly not secure enough to identify me without asking for additional sensitive information?
As a customer who is already experiencing suspected *****, being asked to share more personal details feels reckless and unsafe. It completely undermines confidence in FNB’s internal controls and security processes.
At this point, I am more concerned about who has access to my information inside FNB than external *****sters. Customers should not be put in a position where they feel that internal systems or people may be compromised.
