SECOND FORMAL COMPLAINT – UNAUTHORISED TRANSACTION AND UNFAIR BANK CHARGES

SUBJECT: SECOND FORMAL COMPLAINT – UNAUTHORISED TRANSACTION AND UNFAIR BANK CHARGES

Client: M.M. Smith ID Number: *** Case Number: ***

To Whom It May Concern,

I hereby submit my second formal complaint against First National Bank (FNB) following a *****ulent transaction on my cheque account that occurred on 17 February 2026 in the amount of R650.00.

After reporting this matter to the FNB ***** Division, my banking profile was shut down, which resulted in my banking app, internet banking, and card being blocked. This action was taken under Case Number: ***.

As a direct result, I was forced to apply for a replacement card, for which I was charged R160.00. I strongly object to this charge, as the replacement was not due to any fault or negligence on my part. The *****ulent transaction occurred without my authorisation and without any prior notification or warning from FNB before the transaction was processed.

I have been a loyal FNB client since 2005, and I am deeply concerned about the increasing frequency of *****ulent activity on my cheque account. Repeated incidents of *****, followed by replacement card fees and additional charges, create the impression that responsibility is being shifted onto clients, despite the fact that these incidents are beyond our control.

This ongoing situation has seriously undermined my confidence in the security of my account and my trust in FNB’s systems. As a result, I am now compelled to consider alternative banking institutions in order to better protect my finances.

I have no objection to paying bank charges where I am at fault. However, in this matter, I categorically state that I bear no responsibility for the *****ulent activity or the resulting replacement costs.

I therefore formally request the immediate reversal of all charges related to the replacement card and any associated banking fees arising from this incident.

I trust this matter will receive urgent attention and be resolved without further delay.

A very dissatisfied client, Miss M.M. Smith Contact: ***
