SARS return deposited to an inactive FNB account (2016)

I would like to lay a complain, with regards to FNB eating my money. In 2016 SARS paid an amount of about R1500, to my old FNB Gold Cheque Account. Yet the account was not active, after I left my job at Edcon. How do I recover such an amount, because I need my money refunded. I don't care how FNB refunds me, but I need my money back. Before I take further steps, and take this to the Credit Ombusman.
