********s / ******* Hiding Behind a Banking Licence

I am extremely disappointed in FNB’s handling of my credit card dispute. Despite submitting all required documentation, clear evidence, and supporting correspondence, FNB has been consistently unresponsive, dismissive, and unwilling to properly investigate the matter.

The dispute process has been handled with shocking incompetence. There has been no meaningful engagement, no transparency, and no explanation as to why a valid, well-supported dispute is being rejected. At this point, it feels less like a bank protecting its client and more like an institution deliberately working against one.

By refusing to investigate properly and withholding funds that were clearly disputed in good faith, FNB is effectively leaving customers out of pocket. Whether through negligence or deliberate inaction, the outcome is the same: the customer loses money while FNB retains it. Call it what you want — the result feels indistinguishable from sanctioned theft.

Ironically, it appears that the only way to get FNB to respond is through public exposure. Perhaps now that this complaint is visible on HelloPeter — and inevitably across social media — I might finally be lucky enough to receive a response or an actual investigation into my dispute.

This experience has completely eroded my trust in FNB. A bank that cannot, or will not, protect its clients when clear evidence is provided is not a bank I feel safe doing business with. I am actively reconsidering my relationship with FNB and exploring alternative banking options.

Prospective customers should take note: if something goes wrong, do not expect FNB to support you. Based on my experience, their systems and teams work against you, not with you — and accountability only seems to exist once reputational pressure is app**** publicly.

I would strongly caution anyone considering banking with FNB to think twice.
