Run Around Service

FNB has given me great service ever since my account was opened. That is until I opened a Youth account for my daugther on my profile since she does not have an ID yet.

I have been to the branch (Middelburg) several times to try and sort out the problem, but to no avail. It seems I will have to go again.

Apparently FNB changed their rules concerning Youth accounts. When I received the SMS's that there is outstanding documentation needed, I wanted to comply with their rules, but from there on in it has been a downhill battle to get it all sorted out.

The first time they unlinked the account from my profile and somehow the Youth account card was then able to draw money from my cheque account directly.

The second time they told me that their equipment could not scan the documents properly and that is why a block was put on the account. Papers and a lot of time later it is sorted, but I need to bring a better copy of her birth certificate. Good and well, unfortunately, I could not make it during the week so I went back the Saturday.

The third time all the documents were scanned properly now, but unfortunately the supervisors that can unblock the account are all on weekend. It will be sorted out on Monday.

It is already Tuesday and still the accounts is not sorted... Why do we have to spend valuable time going back and forth to a branch if the people that can do the job is not available???

Service is about communication and getting it right and making an effort... going that extra mile so to speak. Let's see if FNB can come to the party...

Reviewer Update

I would like to thank FNB for there follow up service. I was able to sort the matter out at the branch. Thank you also for your prompt reply and the fact that you called me to see how the problem could be resolved speaks volumes.

After an explanation I realize that the bank also have difficulties keeping up with the wims of the powers that be. As long as they can give me the best security and look after my interests, FNB will remain the bank of choice for me.
