Rude and fishy phone call

Hi

I got a phone call from ********** .

This man just comes out saying he is from FNB and is going to activate benefit on my account.

I tell him no and he goes on saying that, that is what he is going to do.

I tell him again I don't want it and than he starts reading out my personal details on the system to confirm my details.

I ask him what benefit and he tells me its a legal benefit. I again tell him I don't want him and he finally hangs up.

Overall it was extremely rude, trying to force activate product on my account I don't want and was trying to do it anyways.

Also it is exteremly worrying that he is calling from what looks like a private cellphone number. I am exteremly worried that your employees can so easily access my details. Whats to stop him from selling my details and robbing my account?

My mom and I had similar phone calls in the past also from FNB selling their new sim services.

Your telemarketers are way too aggrasive in selling products and the way they handled it was all around rude.

Please put policies in place to let your customers opt out from these ******* phone calls or train your staff better.

FNB responded and have escalated the issue to the proper people. It seems they are taking it seriously. Please note to every other FNB customers. When you sign up for a account, in the T&Cs you agree to allow FNB to advertise their products to you. You have to manually call them to remove this from your account. Also things to note is that FNB sends your personal details to a 3rd party company who sells FNB products on their behalf. With all these people getting their accounts hacked and money ****** on the news these days, you should be kinda worried about your banking security.
