RMB using antiquated money transfer system.

I closed my RMB Guernsey account last week. I had $85 (R1430+-) balance. I received R840 less R125 commission = R715. R602 was deducted for Straight fees. So I got less than 50% of my money. Why does RMB use Straight when there are other cheaper options to get money into South Africa. I use Paypal myself where the charges are 2.5% to 3.4%. The Straight charges were 42%. Stupid or crazy?
