RMB Confirms that people can de***** card

I was making a payment to an online University when I inadvertently entered the incorrect CVV number for my card. The merchant sent a mail confirming payment was denied but the payment was reflected as authorised and pending.

After contacting the merchant and the clearing company I contacted RMB and this turned into a 80 minute nightmare of proportions that cannot be explained. I was advised by Lesego that despite the fact that I know the transaction was incorrect if the merchant contacted the bank for an authorisation number the payment would have been released, this means that a ********** merchant does not need the CVV number to take funds from your account.

This however is a serious of similar disasters and poor service I am still waiting for a reversal of an authorised transaction which occurred 14 days, this despite the fact that the transaction was reversed by the merchant again the merchant could phone for authorisation and get a double payment.

The best part is that I was advised that I must phone the merchant and get then to cancel transactions despite the fact that I had already sent proof that the transaction was denied..
