I have a loan with FNB. I decided to ask them today if I want to free of that loan what is my settlement amount. The operator said R66974.27. My balance currently is R65616.00. I want to buy a car on finance so thought I'd free of the loan however the settlement is higher than what I actually owe. I've had loans before with other banks and whenever I needed to settle earlier I was always given a much lower amout that what I actually owed. I think this is ridiculous. Firstly this loan I took for R70 000 is over five years. Im asking if I pay it back in less than a year, how can my settlement still be more than what I owe. May 2017 will be year I took the loan out. Clearly FNB is ripping us off.
