Ridiculous screening process!

On Friday I phoned FNB online banking to increase my pay and clear limit as I was going to accompany my son on a trip from Johannesburg to Vryburg the next day to see a car which he intended buying. If it turned out to be a good deal, I would lend him the money and pay via EFT so that we could take the car immediately. However, I was told that the limit would be reset to R35000 at midnight, so I would have to phone on the appropriate day, Saturday and Sunday included. After deciding to buy the car, I phoned FNB and was told I would need to pass a screening test to increase my limit. This went ahead and I failed!! I was incredulous!! I had not had an overdraft in 40 years with FNB, I had more than 1.5 times the limit I requested in my account, and yet I failed! I was told the questions were not set by FNB but by credit bureaus and HOME AFFAIRS!!! Can you believe it?? HOME AFFAIRS!!! My account balance was not even considered. I was fuming! I was told I would have to go a bank to complete the transaction. What if it was after hours or Sunday?? It would have meant another 8 hour return trip!! How FNB can use such a screening process beats me
