Review of FNB – Disappointing Service at The Glen Branch / Call Centre staff

Review of FNB – Disappointing Service at The Glen Branch I visited the FNB branch at The Glen on the 2nd of January 2025 to sort out my bank account and order a new card. The consultant assured me that FNB’s Secure Chat feature works well for confirming delivery addresses, so I used it to provide my workplace address for the card delivery. However, on the 6th of January, I received a message stating that my card was delivered to the branch instead of my workplace as requested. Since I could not collect it from the branch, I had to cancel the card and order a new one on the 10th of January. The second time around, I was told to call on Monday, the 13th, to check the status of the card. When I called, I was informed that the card was once again set to be delivered to the branch, despite my clear instructions for delivery to my workplace. This repeated failure to follow simple delivery instructions has left me extremely frustrated. I have been without a card since the 2nd of January, and FNB continues to charge my account for card replacements, even though the errors are on their side. I have been a loyal FNB customer since 2009, but this experience has made me seriously consider closing my account and moving to another bank. It is disappointing that a bank of FNB’s stature cannot handle something as basic as following delivery instructions. I hope FNB takes this feedback seriously and improves its processes to avoid such frustrating experiences for other customers.

Reviewer Update
Good day,
Extremely Disappointed with FNB and CCD Couriers
I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from FNB and CCD Couriers. After posting a review on Hello Peter on 13 January 2025, I received a response stating that my query would be resolved within 5 working days. Following this, I got a call from Karabo at FNB, who assured me that my card would be delivered by CCD Couriers to my work address. I was informed there would be an additional delivery cost of R170.00, which I agreed to pay despite the fact that the initial mistake was FNB's.
I clearly advised Karabo that I would be on leave starting 15 January 2025 and that the card needed to be delivered to my office on 14 January 2025. This arrangement was confirmed, yet this morning (14 January 2025), I received an SMS from CCD Couriers stating that my card would only be delivered on 15 January 2025.
When I contacted CCD Couriers and spoke to Luyanda, I was informed that they had received no such instruction from FNB. Furthermore, I was told there would now be an additional charge of R200.00 for same-day delivery. This is absolutely unacceptable. FNB has once again failed to follow through on their commitments, and I am left dealing with the consequences of their incompetence.
I cannot express how angry and disappointed I am with this entire experience. If this issue is not resolved immediately, I will have no choice but to close my account with FNB.
