reversal of an unauthorized outstanding auth

Hired a car at Bidvest Car Rental on the 28th of August. Had a minor accident and fair enough I was billed and additional funds were reserved from my account to cover the rental. Was invoiced for an amount of about 4372.30 and subsequently the same amount went off my account. At the same time an additional 4372.30 was again reserved on my account.
On Monday the 21st I went to FNB Parow Centre branch to query with the bank why there is an additional amount being reserved in my account when a deduction has already gone through! Further to that I asked if this would not affect any deposits into my account. I was advised that it wouldn't as it has gone through already. After I got paid on the 25th my balance was subsequently reduced by the exact amount. I went to the bank and I was told we followed procedure and there is nothing further we can do. Ignoring the fact that I was assured that it would not affect me. Mind you the lady was also adamant that if i don't have a slips from August they can't help me. Who keeps slips ?? Is it not authentication enought that am there as a customer?

How can we help you??? Really?? Is that a reality or is it just a ploy to Acquire more customers?
