Retirement Annuity Tax Year

Hi there,

I recently opened a Retirement Annuity with FNB. The date to debit my cheque account for the premium was 28th February. When this did not reflect, I messaged FNB secure chat to find out what was happening. My impression was that the people on secure chat were confused and did not know what they were doing. Hence my query was not resolved.

I now see that the debit order has now gone off my cheque account on 1 March but shows a transaction date of 28th February. The retirement annuity shows a balance of 0. I need to know with absolute cer*****y whether the Retirement Annuity premium will apply to the 2*** tax year or the 2*** tax year. I am not willing to go through Secure Chat to find this out as I would not have confidence in their answer.
