Request for a reversal.
I have been a happy FNB customer until there was an unauthorized deduction of R4240 from my account on the 15th of April, sadly on the 16th of April I discovered that there's actually nothing I can do to reverse the money back into my account.
FNB has disabled all the options of reversing /disputing unauthorized debit orders from their customer services(via telephone call), the branches doesn't do reversals and so is online banking.
When you want to reverse a debit order they tell you to login FNB App, were you will then be advised to click on the Covid-19 which they replaced the reversal with saying it's a "Covid-19 cashflow relief" that option will tell you that debit orders cannot be reversed and then take you through the process of applying for a new loan with FNB. They know that when you are unable to reverse unauthorized deductions from your account, you will be Desperate in Distress and in need of any financial assistance since most merchants are now closed due to lockdown, then you'll have no choice but to take out a loan with FNB.
Why is FNB doing this to their customers? Why did FNB take away the rights of customers controlling the activities in their own bank accounts all because they think customers are reversing legit deductions from their accounts? Why are we lured into taking new loans with FNB in this distressing and frustrating time? If FNB thinks customers are reversing legit debit orders, why is FNB dragging us deeper into debt by offering us what they call "Covid-19 cashflow relief"? Why is FNB using Covid-19 for their own benefits(to get new loans applications)?
Is it even allowed for a bank to refuse the customers the right & control were their money goes on their own bank accounts? We had the option to reverse all along, why have they disabled the option now knowing that many will get paid less or not even get paid at all, then they use that as an opportunity for them to make more loan applications as you can't dispute any unauthorized deductions in your account.
