Repeated Early Debiting

Is FNB no longer in the habit of adhering to their clients’ instructions?

Early last year, I took out a personal loan with FNB. Since then, I have had to call in twice to request that my account be debited ON or AFTER the 25th of each month. If there is money in my account in the days leading up to the 25th, that is money I’ve been forced to borrow to see me through to pay day.

This morning I stopped at my local Pick n Pay to pick up a few staples and grab myself something for lunch. The moment my card payment was declined, I knew. A quick check on the app verified that once again FNB had helped themselves before the 25th again.

How far do I need to take this before FNB listens to me? Do you guys understand the embarrassment of having to leave your shopping at the counter in front of a queue of people because your card was obviously declined, all because your bank is incapable of following a simple instruction which you’ve conveyed to them repeatedly? Especially in the mall where you have to work every day? In front of people you know?

I really wouldn’t have expected this from you guys.
