Regret switching to FNB in under 10 minutes
I went to open up my cheque account at the FNB Bryanston branch at teller no.1 on Saturday 30 January. I submitted all the forms for the debit order transfers. I asked if that was it and the teller said yes it was. So I transferred all my funds from my Standard bank account to my new FNB account. On 1 Feb none of my debit orders went through. I tried to find out what the issue was by first calling the call centre, and after holding on the phone line for 40 min and being transferred 4 times to the wrong department, I decided to drive strait to the branch to resolve the issue. After waiting 20 minutes in line the teller at counter tells me it takes 60 days for debit transfers to be completed. Why was this not told to me on Saturday when submitting the debit transfer forms? Do you expect me to then keep my old account active and pay R169 a month just to wait in time for the debt transfers to be completed? Your \switch banks in under 10 minutes\" is a blatant lie and false marketing. I already regret switching to FNB"
