Refusing to release my Unit trust funds

On 09 Mar 2020, 14:25 I posted this review

"Hi,

I have a case with my Private Banker, Nceba Ngamlana and I'm slowly running out of patience now. And to make things worse, I'm not receiving any communication from him if I don't make means to contact him. I think this experience can be better. I have just forwarded him an email now highlighting my grievances surrounding my case. Please see below.

Attention Nceba Ngamlana,

I hope you're well. My name is Fumane Ncumisa Nyati, one of your FNB Private Clients. I believe the reason you were assigned to me as my banker has everything to do with the lumpsum I'm expecting from a Trust fund that was cashed out from Sanlam. This process has been going on for months on months, with no positive turnaround. Late last year I had escalated this matter with Sanlam and they eventually came to the party. Beginning of this year I had numerous trips to the FNB branch to try understand what the hold up was on their side. I was told that the funds would clear in not more than a week because the funds were at the 3rd stage of 4. The 4th stage being the payout stage. After having chased that tirelessly, I was assigned a Private Banker and my account was upgraded to a private Clients account on the 27th January. With this assignment/ upgrade, I was assured that everything would be sorted and the money be paid out in no more than 2 weeks. I accepted this.

I had contact with you on the 28th January where you also advised that there was some outstanding documentation that needed to be submitted and soon after that, the money would be paid into my account. I appreciate that you took time to submit these on my behalf.

I had numerous times where I've been trying to make contact with you regarding an update on when the funds would be paid because till this day, the funds have not been paid. I also find it unacceptable that you do no not make any efforts to contact me if I don't.

We're now fast approaching the end of March, and I still don't know when the funds will be paid up, or at least, what is holding up the funds from being paid. You've given me 3 dates now and all of them turned out to not be correct. And you don't communicate when things are not going according to plan.

Can you please contact me soon as you get this email so that we can have a detailed chat about this case because my patience is running at a low at the moment. Also acceptable for to reply to this email with the following answers :

1. What is holding up the funds from being paid to my account? 2. How long does this process usually take after the money has been received by FNB? If my case is within the time range of all the other cases, why did you say the money would be paid by the 28th February latest. 3. When will the funds be paid into my account, and what motivated that answer. This is because I've been just agreeing to whatever date you've been giving me, without understanding what is outstanding.

Your prompt response would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Regards, Fumane Nyati"

Please be advised that this is still not resolved. To this day, I have not received my funds and I have no idea what to do now to conclude this matter. Please contact me in this regard. I received a call late last year from what sounded like my new banker who had promised to call me mid Jan when he gets back from leave, but I never received any comms from him.
