Refusing to change debit order date

I called in this morning - 4th May 2015 to the personal loans dept , requesting a change in my debit order date. I was refused by Godfrey and his line manager - Eudy.
I requested my debit order date be on the 5th of every month , instead of on the 30th. This is due to the fact that I have gotten married last month and my husband gets paid on the 5th. I was refused , and I do not understand why as I have never missed a payment , and do not understand why FNB is being this difficult as I am requesting the change to ensure there is cash available. Also my husband and I money is now combined and we are comfortable with the 5th of every month and I was flat out refused by my bank of over 10 years.
I need the same to be done with my home loan as well , and I am concerned that I am going to go through the same thing in that dept as well.
