Refusal to Credit for Service not being Used

FNB debited R399 on 26th for Uncapped ADSL which I'm not using.

When eBuck changes took effect in July, I still received my discount. I logged on FNB Connect a few times and the online form confirmed I qualified for 100% discount. I assumed that as I was already subscribed, the discount was continuing for my service.

In August, the service from FNB Connect was very poor. When I called, the techie said there was nothing wrong with the service and the problem had to be with Telkom's ADSL line. Unhappy, I investigated and subscribed to another ISP. My service from them has been exemplary and I have used them since late August. I did switch back to the FNB service for a few days in Sep to confirm the service was still poor. I decided I would just keep FNB Connect as a backup (even though I wasn't using it) as it wasn't costing me.

To my surprise, FNB ruined Christmas by charging at a time when we are short of money.

FNB should have advised of their implementation mistake and given time to cancel. The argument that we benefited is not correct in all cases. It doesn't cost them anything to refund for non-use like mine, but it costs their reputation to be stubborn about it.
