referred to open account in another province

I came in to open account with my partner who is banking with fnb. Becuase my salary account is with nedbank I did not want to moved in without experience of the other bank, I came with invoice on my partner name since the accommodation is on his name and they advised that they do not accept invoices, then I provided recent account statement that is on my name however the address is on my home polokwane address and I was told they cannot assist I must open the account in pololwane... my first impression with fnb is bad bad bad.... when has fnb become a franchise where one branch cant assist Becuase my south african proof of residence is in the other part of south africa???
