RECKLESS LENDING - FNB
Do not get duped by FNB and their pre-approved personal loans! I am a young person, still earning minimal income until I am admitted as an attorney and fell victim to the temptation of these pre-approved loans. FNB gave me a credit card years ago which I've kept up to date with payments. They then offered me a personal loan which I can only just about manage the payments for. They then offered a 2nd pre-approved personal loan of R70000.00 with an interest rate of 27.50 percent despite the fact that I was barely maintaining my credit card payments and 1st personal loan. I took the credit because I was desperate and naive and now realise that this is a clear example of reckless lending when I have had a salary of R15000.00 before deductions for the entire time. I will be approaching the NCR for sure. When I asked FNB to aid me with a payment arrangement today they simply said they cannot help and would only assist if my income changed or I was fired despite the fact that I have always maintained payments until this month. They clearly should not have provided me with the credit in the first place and I am not suffering as a result and can't even put food on the table. Thanks for nothing FNB.
