RE: Paid Up Letter

I have a VODACOM CARD SILVER. In 2009 I was unemployed and so was advised by my banking consultant at the time to go under Debt Review. We followed all the procedures and he negotiated interest rates and repayment structures. I kept paying the account every month until 2017 , when according to the HYPHEN PDA statements we finally arrived at a R0.00 balance. This was now the last and final account I had under debt review being account number ********** ********** 06, and when the last payment was made, the debit orders stopped. I assumed this was the normal procedure. At no time was I every aware that I should request a paid up Letter. I heard nothing more from my Debt Counselor and was so happy to be finally completely debt free. Out of the blue around September last year (2017) I received a call from a lady claiming that I owe FNB monies and she wants all my personal details. I refused , since I knew the account was paid up and also with all the ***** going on , I would never give my personal details over the phone. I then received several SMS threats insisting I settle the debt and being threatened with further legal action and court orders etc. I have kept most of the sms's. I cannot even express the frustration and stress this has caused. I have over 30 emails back and forth between the NCR, Ombudsman and Debt Counselor trying to get this sorted out, mostly from my side to them, but I am not getting any answers. I have a reference number from the NCR for the complaint I laid against my DC. FNB how can you even operate like this. I want my paid up letter NOW, then I will take my money elsewhere. Clearly FNB is robbing it's people blind. I am not getting any answers from anyone, My DC does not answer his phone and GL Attorney keeps harassing me with SMS's, which I find EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. When the account was paid up last year already, I should have received my paid up letter. The account was also supposedly removed from Debt Review status due to not receiving payment but this happened after the account was in fact paid up. I am REFUSE to pay for other people's mistakes again. Someone needs to do their job properly and sort it out. If I do not receive my Paid Up Letter then I will take this to the NCR and Ombudsman once again! I have made absolutely every attempt from my side to prove that the account is paid up now.

Thank you I have sent two emails requesting a settlement discount and had no response at all. GL Attorneys keeps harassing me with SMS's. Letters were sent to the incorrect address despite me having three different accounts with FNB and everything is always kept up to date. Had someone done their job properly this would not have come to this point. Once again people getting a salary and not doing their jobs. I want a settlement discount of at least 50% as offered in Dec. I will then pay up, close the account and move my money to another bank.
